MAGENTA NIGHT
Magenta Night is both the name of a forty image portfolio as well as the stage name of the lead performer at the famous gay bar, Jim's, in Rochester, NY. Presented here is a selection of portraits taken with an 8x10 inch view camera one evening in 1979 on 'Drag Night'. The star of the show, Magenta Night, was a pioneer in the LGBTQ+ community not only in New York but the nation. A portfolio of 20 images printed in platinum, is in the permanent collection of the Eastman Museum in Rochester, New York.
